The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Friday.

The first call came in just after 8:30am. Brenham Firefighters were dispatched to the 3200 Block of Old Independence Road for a reported structure fire.  BFD units along with members of the Meyersville Fire Department arrived on location to find smoke coming from an RV. Firefighters used tank water to extinguish the fire. Members from both departments checked for hot spots and made sure they were extinguished before returning to service.

Then at 10:30am, Brenham FD Units were then dispatched to the 1600 Block of South Blue Bell Road for a report of a structure fire along with Fire Departments from Meyersville, Chappell Hill, and Salem. The Meyersville firefighters arrived first on the scene and found nothing showing from the exterior of the building. Firefighters entered the building to find maintenance workers turning on the heaters caused the smoke smell. No smoke or fire was found, and all units returned to service.
