CUBETTE SOCCER EARNS FIRST DISTRICT WIN
The third time was a charm for the Brenham Cubette Soccer Team as they defeated the Huntsville Lady Hornets 1-0 on Friday night at Cub Stadium.
After a tie, and a loss to start district play, Brenham got back into the win column to improve their overall record to 9-1-1.
Following a scoreless first half, Leslie Quevedo Mata scored the game's lone goal in the second half, and then the defense held on the rest of the way to get the win.
The night was an extra special one.
Prior to the game, the Cubettes decided to honor 6-year-old Crockett Abraham, who passed away on January 24, by tying gold ribbons in their hair, a symbol recognizing Childhood Cancer Awareness.
Next up, Brenham will be going on the road to face A&M Consolidated on Tuesday. The JV plays at 5pm, followed by the Varsity at 7pm.
