TWO CRASH CALLS TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out five times on Tuesday.

Just shy of 8 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer Street.  Upon arrival, they determined the alarm to be false.

Approaching 2:30 p.m., the department went out to a crash at Highway 290 West and Highway 36 North.  Personnel found a two-vehicle crash and provided traffic control until the vehicles were removed from the roadway.  No injuries were reported.

Shortly after 3:15 p.m., units were dispatched to a reported structure fire at a home in the 1000 block of Rhames Avenue.  They made location and found smoke from the city’s sewer testing, and a check of the house found everything was okay.

At 5:15 p.m., a crash was called in from the 600 block of East Sixth Street.  The fire department found a two-vehicle crash with no injuries and was released from the scene by the police department.

Close to 11:15 p.m., members of the Brenham Fire Department and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded to a grass fire in the 9200 block of FM 1371.  However, Brenham firefighters were cancelled by the Chappell Hill department enroute to the call.
