BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO VOTE ON 2026-27 CALENDAR
The Burton School Board will take up several items at its meeting on Monday.
Action items will include a vote on Burton ISD’s proposed calendar for the 2026-27 school year, potentially increasing the district’s “micro purchase” threshold, purchasing CTE computer equipment not to exceed $35,000, and approving a resolution related to the compensation of teachers and staff due to the winter weather event. There will also be an item for an order of school board election on May 2nd for the positions currently held by Dean Fuchs, Misty Lucherk and Donna Putnam.
In discussion-only items, trustees will review bus quotes and go over financing options for ongoing maintenance expenditures. They will also receive monthly reports, hear a bond construction update, and recognize student groups.
In executive session, the board will discuss personnel, including administrative employee contracts and evaluation of the superintendent. It will also go over pending litigation against DSA, Inc. and Circle H Dirt Work and Excavation (Cause No. 38478, 21st Judicial District Court in Washington County). Any action will be taken in open session.
The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton ISD Cafeteria.
