CUB BASKETBALL TROUNCES RUDDER ON SENIORS NIGHT 70-35

Cub Basketball 2026 Seniors (Brenham ISD)

In the last game on their home court, the Brenham Cub Basketball Team sent their seniors out on a high note with a 70-35 victory over the Rudder Rangers on Friday night at the Brenham High School Gym.

Brenham honored their outgoing seniors: Cameron Boggess, Brycen Carnagey, Chris Guidry, Jayden Hebert, Jayden Nava, and Peyton Tuma.

Each senior was able to get into the game and contribute to the win.

The Cubs jumped out to a 24-9 lead in the first quarter, and never looked back. The closest quarter was the second, but Brenham still came out on top 11-10, which gave them a 35-19 advantage going into the locker room at halftime.

The second half was all Brenham as they outscored Rudder 16-9 in the third quarter and 19-7 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Jayden Hebert led the way with 15 points. Chris Guidry, Tre'Lyn Kelly, and Jayden Nava added nine points each. Nava, who was seeing his first action of the season after just recently getting cleared to return from injury, hit a trio of three-pointers.

With their seventh win in a row, the Cubs are now 21-10 overall and 7-3 in district. Brenham currently sits in third place in District 17-5A. They are a half game behind Huntsville and Lake Creek, who are tied for first place.

Next up, the Cubs will be at Lake Creek on Tuesday night. Brenham can clinch a playoff spot for the third straight year with a win.
