BURTON DEBATE TEAM TAKES PART IN HAWK INVITATIONAL

  

The Burton Panther Debate Team took part in the Hawk Classic Invitational hosted by Pflugerville Hendrickson High School. Autumn Applewhite and Kinley Frank represented Burton at the meet.

The morning started slowly for the Panthers as the duo dropped their first round of debate to Gateway Georgetown by a speaker point score of 55 to 51.

Despite a better performance, the second round of debate also went against the Panthers, as they faced the eventual tournament champions from Hendrickson, by a score of 59 to 55.

The team of Applewhite and Frank found their stride in the third round, as they notched a win against another team from Gateway Georgetown with a 59 to 55 performance.

The duo now awaits the invitational season to close and a determination of their status in the postseason bracket.
