BRENHAM AND BURTON COMPETE AT POWERLIFTING MEET

The Brenham Cubs and Burton Panthers took part in a Brazos Valley Powerlifting League Meet that was held yesterday (Monday) at Brenham High School.

In the 123-lb. class, Andrew Gonzales of Burton finished 1st overall with a combined lift of 810 pounds. Landon Kramer of Brenham finished 3rd overall with a combined lift of 650 pounds.

In the 132-lb. class, four Burton Panthers finished in the top ten. Ayden Vogl was 3rd overall with a combined lift of 800 pounds, Zach Purvis was 4th overall with a combined lift of 795 pounds, Even Guerrero was 6th with a combined lift of 720 pounds, and Tyler Ramirez was 10th with a combined lift of 580 pounds.

In the 148-lb. class, Burton had three top ten finishes. Hunter Duffy finished 1st overall with a 1,060 pound combined lift. Brandon Strickland was 2nd  with an 880 pound combined lift, and Ray Bozarth was 5th overall with an 800 pound combined lift. Meanwhile, Chad Martinez of Brenham was 8th in the division with a 745 pound lift.  

For the 165-lb. class, Chris Reynaga Figuerua of Brenham was sixth overall with a 740 pound combined lift.

In the 181-lb. class, Peyton Tuma of Brenham placed fifth with a combined lift of 715 pounds.

For the 198-lb.class, Ty Minifee of Brenham and Gunner Hightower of Burton finished tied for 7th. Both students had combined lifts of 835 pounds.

In the 220-lb. class, Brenham placed three in the top five. Owen Robinson was 1st with a combined lift of 1,340 pounds, Brock Benker was 4th overall with a combined lift of 1,210 pounds, and J’Rius Booker was 5th overall with a combined lift of 1,145 pounds.

For the 242-lb. class, Brenham had two in the top ten. Caleb Espinoza finished 5th overall with 1,155 pounds, and Mason Seeber was 6th overall at 1,150 pounds.

Meanwhile, Brenham’s Luke Mabie finished 1st in the 275-lb. class with a 1,315 combined lift, and Carter Poehlmann finished 2nd in the 308-lb class with a combined lift of 1,150 pounds.
