“HARVEY” TO PREMIERE AT THE NAVASOTA THEATRE ALLIANCE THIS FRIDAY
As part of their 40th anniversary season, the Navasota Theatre Alliance is going to be performing a famous play about a man and his best friend, who just happens to be a large, invisible rabbit.
“Harvey”, the 1945 Pulitzer Prize winning play by Mary Chase, will run from, Friday, February 13, to Sunday, March 1.
“Harvey” tells the story of Elwood P. Dowd, a wealthy eccentric, who insists on including his friend, Harvey, in all of his sister Veta’s social gatherings.
The problem is that Harvey is a six-and-a-half-foot-tall rabbit that only Elwood can see.
Veta tries to have Elwood committed to a sanitarium, and gets mistakenly committed after admitting that she has started seeing Harvey too.
Once she gets things straightened out, the search is on to find Elwood and Harvey.
The play was later turned into an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominated movie that starred Jimmy Stewart and Josephine Hull.
Showtimes for “Harvey” are at 7pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and at 2pm on Sundays.
