CUBETTE BASKETBALL WRAPS UP THE REGULAR SEASON WITH A WIN ON SENIORS NIGHT
What a difference a year makes. Last season, the Brenham Cubette Basketball Team finished District 17-5A competition with an 0-12 record (11-21 overall).
After last (Tuesday) night's 47-32 win over Lake Creek, the Cubettes finished the regular season with a 7-5 district record (23-12 overall). They also finished in a three-way tie for third place with A&M Consolidated and Montgomery.
Prior to the game, Brenham honored their outgoing seniors: Ja'Laya Pettus, Antyiahna Lang, Carmen McWilliams, Amirah Byrd and student manager Ja'Niyah Lewis.
The Cubettes dominated the game winning all four quarters 12-7, 10-9, 12-6, and 13-10.
Lang led the Cubettes with 11 points, while freshman Aby Adams added ten points.
Next up, Brenham will be taking part in a three-way playoff. The Cubettes will play A&M Consolidated on Thursday at 6:30pm in Navasota. Montgomery has a bye. The winner of the Brenham-AMC game will battle Montgomery on Friday for the 3rd and 4th playoff spots, and the loser goes home.
