WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD TO ELECT 2026 OFFICERS
The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors will have a lengthy list of items to address at its meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin with electing the board’s chair, vice chair and secretary for 2026.
Board members will consider items to approve the appraisal district’s 2024-25 audit, a budget amendment, the board’s 2026 meeting calendar, and the district’s 2026-27 budget calendar.
Additionally, the board will act on a resolution to increase the number of Appraisal Review Board members from three to five and establish staggered two-year terms, as well as a resolution to authorize the chief appraiser to make changes to the tax roll to correct clerical errors or other inaccuracies.
The board will also discuss the Texas Comptroller’s 2025 Property Value Study preliminary findings and potentially approve changes to the agricultural and wildlife policy to add intensity standards specific to pollinators.
An executive session will be held for consultation with an attorney and to perform the annual evaluation of the chief appraiser.
The board will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the appraisal district office at 1301 Niebuhr Street in Brenham.
