CRASH WITH ENTRAPMENT ONE OF EIGHT CALLS BETWEEN SATURDAY, EARLY MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FD

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to eight calls between Saturday and early this (Monday) morning.

Just before 12:45 p.m. Saturday, units went out to a fire alarm at a home in the 2500 block of Country Meadows Lane.  The alarm was determined to be false.

Approaching 3:15 p.m., firefighters went out to the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South, for a fire alarm that was later found to be false. 

Around 6:30 p.m., members of the Brenham Fire Department and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a reported crash with entrapment in the 7200 block of Highway 290 East.  They made location to find a vehicle on its driver’s side, with two patients still inside.  Firefighters assisted EMS with patient extrication.  No information was available on any possible injuries.

Shortly after 8:45 p.m., BFD members were called out for a possible vehicle fire at East Academy and North Market Street.  No fire was found, but there was steam from a coolant leak on the vehicle.

A few minutes past 4 p.m. Sunday, the department responded to a vehicle fire in the 300 block of Clayton Drive.  Firefighters found a motorcycle fully involved and extinguished the fire.

Around 11:15 p.m., units received a call for a rescue at 807 West Second Street, but upon arrival, they found the person was out of the elevator.

Just after 12:45 a.m. today, personnel went out for a fire alarm at a home in the 300 block of Clayton Drive and found bad smoke detectors.  They were called back out to the location for another fire alarm shortly after 3:15 a.m. and advised the resident to contact an alarm company to address an issue with the alarm system.
