It has been a busy few days for the Brenham Cubette Softball Team. After going on a three-game winning streak to end the Leadoff Classic, the Cubettes went on the road this (Monday) afternoon and lost to New Caney West Fork 6-3.

West Fork jumped on Brenham starting pitcher Kylie Baker with four runs in the first inning to take the early lead.

The Cubettes would finally get on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth as McKenzie Tiemann hit her third home run of the season to cut the lead to 4-1.

Brenham added another run the fifth inning. Aldyn Jaks singled, and later came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Ali Tiemann, which trimmed the West Fork advantage in half 4-2.

The Cubettes made it a one-run game in the top of the sixth. Laityn Davis doubled. Baker singled, and on an error, Davis scored to make it a 4-3 game.

However, West Fork added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth off of Davis, who came on in relief of Baker.

With the loss, the Brenham drops to 4-3 on the season. Next up, they will be at the Drippings Springs Tournament Thursday-Saturday.
