FALSE ALARMS MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FD

The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Monday.

Shortly after 9 a.m., units were dispatched for a fire alarm at Republic Services, 1709 Highway 36 North. Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and firefighters were informed by an employee that the business was having alarm problems.

At noon, the department responded to an activated detector at a home in the 3000 block of Shadow Lawn Street. Personnel found nothing showing from the outside of the home. Upon checking the detector, they found that the detector was bad.

At 4:45 p.m., firefighters went out to Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street, for a fire alarm. There was nothing detected from the outside of the building. Upon entering, they found the alarm was caused by burnt cookies on the stove, so they ventilated the room and reset the alarm.
