LADY PANTHERS MAKE QUICK WORK OF BIG SANDY IN BI-DISTRICT WIN
The Burton Lady Panther Basketball Team are Bi-District Champions after a 33-10 win over Big Sandy last (Tuesday) night at Willis High School.
Burton dominated the first quarter by outscoring Big Sandy 15-0.
The second quarter saw the teams play to a 2-2 tie. The third quarter was also low scoring with the Lady Panthers outscoring the Lady Cats 4-1.
Since there is no shot clock in high school basketball, Big Sandy went to passing the ball around, and trying to run as much time off of the game clock as possible.
The fourth quarter saw the most action with Burton outscoring Big Sandy 12-7.
Mya Rodriguez led the way for Burton with 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.
Val Hernandez added 7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 4 assists.
Lexi Broesche finished with 6 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Next up, the Lady Panthers will be facing Weimar in the Area Round of the playoffs.
