SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARRESTS FOR ASSAULT, PAROLE VIOLATION
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrests of two people on Thursday, with one facing multiple charges including assault and the other booked on a parole warrant.
Just after 11 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 8700 block of Highway 290 East. According to the sheriff’s office, the victim stated that she and her boyfriend had gotten into a physical altercation, and that he had left the location on foot. After additional investigation, the suspect was located and taken into custody. 46-year-old Freddie Akens Jr. of Hempstead was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, Criminal Mischief $750 - $2,500, and Interfering with an Emergency Request for Assistance.
Around 9:30 p.m., deputies served an arrest warrant in the 4500 block of Rocky Creek Manor. 51-year-old Kevin Ray Ladewig of Brenham was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with Violation of Parole – Burglary of a Habitation.
