CUB BASEBALL LOSES TWO ON FINAL DAY OF THE LOUISIANA TOURNAMENT
The Brenham Cub Baseball Team wrapped up their appearance at the Barbe/Sulphur SPOT Classic in Louisiana with a pair of one-run losses on Saturday. The Cubs lost to Pearl River Central in the opening game 5-4, and then were shutout by Barbe 1-0 in the second game.
In the first inning against Pearl River Central, Dalton Hart reached on a one-out single, stole second, and then later scored on error to give the Cubs an early 1-0 lead.

The Cubs added two more runs in the top of the sixth. Nate Rau reached on a double, and then three batters later, Ethan Aschenbeck hit a two-run homer to increase the Brenham advantage to 4-0.
Brayden Steele started the game, and he went five shutout innings. Pearl River Central rallied in the bottom of the sixth with five runs off of Sterling Scheffer, only two of which were earned.
