ANOTHER GEM BY WITT LEADS BURTON BASEBALL TO A WIN OVER ANDERSON-SHIRO
Burton Panther pitcher Tyler Witt is off to a red-hot start to the 2026 season. The Burton Panther Baseball Team shutout Anderson-Shiro 4-0 yesterday (Friday) on Day Two of the Burton Tournament.
Witt went the distance to get the win and improve his record to 3-0 on the season. He allowed only two hits and two walks, while striking out nine. Witt also still has yet to give up a run, so his ERA remains at 0.00 through his first three starts on the mound.
Burton got their first run in the bottom of the third inning. Houston Hodde was hit by a pitch, and later advanced to second on a passed ball. Carter Prigge was brought in the game to pinch run for Hodde., and he scored on an RBI single by Coy Gurka.
The Panthers put the game away in the bottom of the fourth inning with three more runs. Braydon Martin reached on an error, and Ryder Biggs drew a walk. Eli Jaeger brought them both home with a two-run triple. Jaeger would then score on an RBI single by Hank Majewski, which made it 4-0.
After giving up a leadoff walk in the top of the sixth, Witt struck out three in a row to end the game.
Next up, Burton is taking Hempstead today (Saturday) at Fireman's Park.
