CUBETTES DROP NON-DISTRICT GAME AGAINST WALLER

The Brenham Cubette Softball Team faced off against former district rivals, the Waller Lady Bulldogs, on a night where they celebrated the 1996 Cubette Softball State Championship Team's 30th Anniversary.

Unfortunately for Brenham, it was the Lady Bulldogs who came out on the winning end with a 5-1 victory at Alumni Field.

Waller took an early 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the first inning.

Brenham tied with a run in the bottom of the third inning. McKenzie Tiemann reached on an error by the shortstop, and she later stole second. Laityn Davis singled and Tiemann came in to score on an error by the centerfielder to tie it 1-1.

Waller came back with a run in the fifth and three runs in the seventh to secure the win.

The Cubettes managed only three hits against the Lady Bulldogs, all of them single.

Kylie Baker took the loss in the circle after giving up the first two runs over four innings of work.

Next up, Brenham will host the Giddings Buffaloes at Alumni Field on Tuesday at 5pm at Alumni Field. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 4:35pm.
