CUB AND CUBETTE BASKETBALL TEAMS EARN ALL-DISTRICT RECOGNITION

Brenham High School has announced the District 17-5A All District Selections for the Cub and Cubette Basketball Teams.

BOYS

The Brenham Cubs finished their season this past Saturday with a loss to Iowa Colony in the Area Round of the playoffs. Overall, they were 23-12, and finished in a three-way tie for second place.

1^ST Team – Jayden Hebert and Chris Guidry

2^nd Team – Roderick Martin, Quincy Adams, and Dawud Majied

Honorable Mention – Tre’Lyn Kelly and LaMarion Roberson

GIRLS

The Brenham Cubettes finished the season in a three-way tie for third place. Overall, they finished with a record of 23-12. The big turnaround was in district where they went from 0-12 the previous year, to 7-5 this year.

Defensive Player of the Year – Antyiahna Lang

Newcomer of the Year – Abygale Adams

Coach of the Year – Brad Evans

1^st Team – Janiyah Mathis and Carmen McWilliams

2^nd Team – Daliyah Richard

Honorable Mention – Hakeira Williams, Bri’Ashia Broaden, Ja’Layla Mathis, Sandra Prieto, and Amirah Byrd Academic All District – Antyiahna Lang, Janiyah Mathis, Carmen McWiIliams, Daliyah Richard, Hakeira Williams, Bri’Ashia Broaden, Ja’Laya Pettus, Amirah Byrd, and the team’s student manager Ja’Miyah Mathis.
