TWO ACCIDENTS AMONG SEVEN CALLS WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM FD

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to seven calls on Wednesday.

Approaching 2 p.m., firefighters went out for a gas odor/leak at Kerr and Petty Streets, where they found a contractor had hit a gas line.  The department stood by until the line was capped off.

Around 3:15 p.m., units were dispatched to a crash with entrapment in the 15400 block of Highway 105.  They found a two-vehicle crash with major damage to one vehicle.  The department assisted with traffic control and checked for fluids, returning to service once the vehicle was removed.  No word was given on any injuries.

Another crash was called in at 4 p.m. at South Chappell Hill Street and Highway 290 East.  Personnel provided traffic control.  There was no information available on any injuries. 

At 4:45 p.m., BFD members responded to a fire alarm at Brenham National Bank, 2211 South Day Street.  They discovered the alarm was set off by construction work.

Shortly after 5 p.m., another fire alarm was called in from the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South.  The alarm was determined to be false.

Close to 5:30 p.m., units went out for a grass fire at FM 50 and Reagan Beth Lane.  They found a small area that was burning and applied water to the area.

A few minutes after 6:45 p.m., the department was called out for a fire alarm at Blue Bell Creameries, 1101 South Blue Bell Road.  The alarm was found to be false.
