48TH ANNUAL BLUE BELL FUN RUN IS COMING TO BRENHAM THIS SATURDAY

All participants in the Blue Bell Fun Run will receive a medal, as well as free t-shirts and Blue Bell Ice Cream.

Thousands of people are expected to converge on Brenham and Washington County this weekend for the 48th Annual Blue Bell Fun Run.

The Blue Bell Fun Run will be held on Saturday morning beginning and ending at Brenham High School.

Proceeds from the Fun Run go to benefit the Brenham High School Athletic Department.

Last year’s event drew a record 5,400 participants. According to Jamie Maurer with Run for the Youth of Washington County, all four races for this year have reached the maximum number of participants.

Maurer also said they have moved up the start times. The Half Marathon will begin at 7am, followed by the Kids’ mile at 7:30am, the 10K run at 8am, and the 5K at 9am.

Race packets can be picked up from 4-7pm on Friday night, or on Saturday morning beginning at 6am.

Parking will be at the Washington County Fairgrounds, and then participants and observers can walk the rest of the way to the high school. Organizers ask that you arrive an hour to an hour and a half in advance.

After the Fun Run ends, participants can get Blue Bell Ice Cream at the finish line.

Also, in honor of America’s 250th Birthday, this year’s T-Shirts will be Red, White, and Blue.

In addition to that, you can look for Doug Brown broadcasting live in the KWHI Friendly Country Cruiser.
