Landry Mendoza (Kaylee Roznovsky)

Coming off last week's sweep over College Station, the Brenham Cub Baseball Team kept their momentum going with a 9-3 road win over Lake Creek on Tuesday night.

Lake Creek jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.

Brenham would respond with a seven-run third inning. Brayden Steele led off the inning with a single, but he was erased when Landry Mendoza hit into a fielder's choice. Dalton Hart followed with another single that moved Mendoza to second. Mendoza then scored on an RBI single by Owen Finke to tie the game at 1-1. Drake Bentke followed with an RBI double that brought home Hart to give the Cubs a 2-1 lead. Ethan Aschenbeck added to the lead with an RBI single to score Finke. Luke Hardy singled in Bentke to increase the Brenham advantage to 4-1.

Bleu Cienega reached on a walk. Two batters later, Steele came up for the second time in the inning, and he hit a two-run single to bring home Aschenbeck and Hardy. Mendoza would later single home Cienega to make it a 7-1 game.

Luke Hardy

Lake Creek came back with a run in the fourth and a run in the fifth to make it a 7-3 game.
