BRENHAM PD MAKES ARRESTS FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION, WARRANTS FOR THEFT & FAILING TO MAINTAIN FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Brenham police reported three arrests on Wednesday, one for marijuana possession and two others for warrants.
Around 8 p.m., Officer Zachary Heinecke conducted a traffic stop near the 2100 block of Highway 290 West for failing to display a front license plate. Upon further investigation, police detected an odor of marijuana and performed a probable cause search. The driver, 34-year-old Tomas Tavarez of Houston, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and booked into the Washington County Jail.
Around 9:15 p.m., 21-year-old Brendarius Morgan of Katy was booked into the Washington County Jail by Officer Heinecke for a warrant. Police say the warrant was for Theft of Property $750 - $2,500 and stems from a shoplifting case back in 2024.
A few minutes before 10:30 p.m., Officer Brayten Rolling was patrolling the area of the 2100 block of South Blue Bell Road when he conducted a traffic stop for speeding. According to police, the driver showed to have an active warrant for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. 37-year-old Cynthia Renee Perry of Bryan was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.
