CITY OF NAVASOTA ANNOUNCES EXPANSION PLANS FOR FREEDOM FESTIVAL
The City of Navasota has announced plans for an expansion of their annual Freedom Festival.
The 6th Annual Freedom Festival will be held on the 4th of July. It will be a day of patriotic celebration marking Independence Day and recognizing the nationwide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States.
This year’s Freedom Festival will be one of the largest yet, with family friendly activities, live music, a brand-new drone light show, and the community’s fireworks finale.
Navasota City Manager Robert Hemminger said, “With the upcoming America250 milestone, we wanted to make this year’s event even more memorable by expanding the celebration and adding new experiences for residents and visitors to enjoy.”
The celebration begins at 11:00 a.m. with the Freedom Festival Parade through Historic Downtown Navasota. Local businesses, organizations, and community members are invited to participate in the parade, which has long been a highlight of the day’s festivities. Beginning at noon, Navasota City Hall will transform into a family fun zone with kids’ activities and carnival rides, offering entertainment for all ages.
Live music will kick off the evening entertainment beginning at 5:30 p.m. The stage will feature All Hat No Cadillac, bringing fans the best of 90’s country hits, followed by Last Child, an energetic Aerosmith tribute band performing classic rock favorites.
New to Freedom Festival this year, the City of Navasota will present a drone light show that will illuminate the night sky in honor of America250. The choreographed drone display will celebrate the spirit and history of the United States as the City of Navasota joins communities across the country in commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Following the drone show, the evening will conclude with Navasota’s highly anticipated fireworks display, lighting up the sky over Downtown and bringing the Freedom Festival celebration to a memorable close.
