TWO ACCIDENTS AMONG SEVEN CALLS SUNDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department was called out seven times on Sunday.
Just before 10 a.m., units responded to a fire alarm at a home in the 1700 block of San Jacinto Drive. The alarm was determined to be false.
At 11:45 a.m., personnel went out to a small grass fire in the 700 block of Church Street. They extinguished the small fire and returned to service.
Approaching noon, the department was dispatched to a crash at Highway 290 West and Highway 36 North, where it found a two-vehicle accident with minor damage. BFD members provided traffic control until the vehicles were moved off the roadway.
At 4 p.m., members of the Brenham Fire Department and Salem Volunteer Fire Department responded to a crash with entrapment in the 4600 block of FM 389. They made location to find the patient out of the vehicle and checked to make sure no leaks were occurring. The extent of any injuries was unknown.
Just shy of 5 p.m., the Brenham department and the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department were sent out to a grass fire at Highway 290 East and Malinowski Lane. They found a small fire in the ditch and extinguished the fire.
Close to 5:15 p.m., units were called out to West Tom Green Street and South Day Street for a smoke investigation. They found a small pile of leaves smoldering and applied water to the pile.
A fire alarm was reported shortly after 7 p.m. at Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street. The alarm was found to be false.
