FIVE FIRE ALARMS AMONG EIGHT CALLS MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department responded to eight calls on Monday.
Just before 8:15 a.m., firefighters went out to a crash at Highway 290 East and Meleski School Lane, but they were cancelled enroute.
A fire alarm was called in shortly after 10:15 a.m. at HDL Research Lab, 406 West Blue Bell Road. The alarm was determined to be false.
Another fire alarm was reported at approximately the same time at Innocore Foam Technologies, 1200 Rink Street. The alarm was caused by a busted sprinkler pipe. Subsequent fire alarms were called in around 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. The department reported the business was having alarm issues.
Close to 12:45 p.m., BFD members were dispatched to a crash at East Commerce Street and South Baylor Street. They helped move the vehicles that were in the crash before returning to service. No injuries were reported.
A few minutes after 5:15 p.m., units responded to a gas odor/leak at Motel 6, 555 Highway 290 West. They found a dryer leaking at the location and waited for the City of Brenham Gas Department to arrive before clearing the scene.
