BARNHILL CENTER ADVISORY BOARD TO DISCUSS UTILIZING VENDOR FOR CONCESSIONS
The Barnhill Center Advisory Board will meet Tuesday to hold work session discussion on concession and alcohol services at The Barnhill Center.
The City of Brenham Tourism Department is considering moving to a vendor for the sale of concessions and alcohol at the venue.
According to the agenda packet for the meeting, city staff estimated a loss of just over $4,000 in Fiscal Year 2025 for offering concessions and alcohol in-house, not including staff time. The transition to a vendor would be done with the intent of reducing annual operating expenses and alleviating staff time used for purchasing materials and managing services offered.
The city received two proposals, with Cocktails4U being listed after an evaluation as the winning vendor. Once city staff finalizes negotiations, a service agreement will come before the city council.
In other work session talks, the board will receive a historic overview of the partnership between the city and Brenham Main Street Historical Preservation, Inc., which is the nonprofit formed to restore and preserve the Historic Simon Theater.
Board members will then hear administrative reports.
The board will meet Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library.
