CUB BASEBALL RALLIES LATE TO BEAT HUNTSVILLE 3-2
The Brenham Cub Baseball Team needed a late rally to avoid getting upset by the Huntsville Hornets on Friday night at Fireman's Park. Brenham won the game 3-2 to improve to 15-8-1 overall and finish the first half of district with a perfect 6-0 record.
The Cubs struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Owen Finke reach on a one-out single. Drake Bentke followed with a double. Ethan Aschenbeck would later bring home Finke on an RBI groundout to give Brenham a 1-0 lead.
Huntsville came back to score a run in the third and a run in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. It would stay that way until the bottom of sixth.
Aschenbeck started the comeback with a single, and Luke Hardy hit a double. Then, Brody Tucker came up and slugged a two-run double to score them both, and put the Cubs up 3-2.
Brayden Steele went all seven innings to get the win for Brenham.
