BRENHAM PD MAKES ARRESTS FOR DWI, TRAFFIC WARRANTS
Brenham police arrested three people over the weekend on charges including driving while intoxicated and traffic warrants.
Shortly after 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Officer Stephen Mosley conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was blocking traffic at the 500 block of Burleson Street. Police say their investigation revealed that the driver was operating a motor vehicle on a public roadway while intoxicated and was in possession of an open alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle. 44-year-old Marvin Jones of Brenham was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container and transported to the Washington County Jail.
A few minutes past 11:15 p.m., Officer Brayten Rolling observed a male associated with a gray 2012 Honda Accord in the Ralston Creek Court area. Officer Rolling later conducted a license plate check on the vehicle and learned the registered owner, 29-year-old Donterius Dashon Sweed of Brenham, had an active warrant for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. Sweed was located nearby, and after his identity was confirmed, he was taken into custody. During a search of his person, police say a usable amount of marijuana was located on Sweed. Sweed was transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked in on his active warrant and Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.
Around 11 p.m. Sunday, Officer Rolling, Officer Mosley and Officer Zachary Heinecke responded to the 1100 block of Green Street in reference to a wanted person. Police say 27-year-old Kevin Josiah Miles of Somerville showed to have five active warrants, including Failure to Identify as a Fugitive, Driving While License Invalid Enhanced, Failure to Control Speed, and two counts of Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. Miles was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail without incident.
