SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS FOUR ON CHARGES INCLUDING DWI, DEADLY CONDUCT WARRANT
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office made four arrests between Friday and Sunday.
Close to 4:30 a.m. Friday, Deputy Carson Holton responded to a welfare concern at the intersection of Pecan Mill Lane and Old Mill Creek Road. Upon the deputy’s arrival, contact was made with the driver who reportedly displayed signs of intoxication. After further investigation, 37-year-old William Joseph Amelang of Brenham was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More.
Shortly after 3 p.m., deputies executed an arrest warrant in the 200 block of Lange Lake Road. 38-year-old Russell James Allbright of Brenham was arrested without incident and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Deadly Conduct Discharge of a Firearm.
Just shy of 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Deputy Jacob Faske conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Highway 36 South due to suspicious activity. Upon making contact, an odor of marijuana was detected. According to the sheriff’s office, the driver admitted to being in possession of narcotics, so a search of the vehicle was conducted. The sheriff’s office reported finding marijuana residue and THC concentrate vapes and gummies during the search. 24-year-old Breashia Armani Smith of Brenham was booked at the Washington County Jail for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams.
Approaching midnight, Sergeant Corey Himebaugh was dispatched to the 8900 block of Highway 290 East in regards to a subject refusing to leave the premises. Upon making contact, the sheriff’s office determined that the subject had an active criminal trespass warning, so he was taken into custody. 48-year-old Rodney Jerome Wallace of Brenham was taken to the Washington County Jail for Criminal Trespass.
