MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS AMONG EIGHT CALLS BETWEEN SATURDAY, EARLY MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department responded to eight calls between Saturday and early this (Monday) morning.
The first two calls on Saturday were for alarms at Sealy Mattress, 1201 Highway 290 West, one just before 5:45 a.m. and the other at 9:15 a.m. Both alarms were found to be false.
Close to 6:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a crash in the 2500 block of South Day Street. Upon arrival, they found the crash had moved into a parking lot. No injuries were reported.
Shortly before midnight, units went out to a crash in the 1100 block of North Park Street. They discovered a two-vehicle crash in the roadway. No injuries were reported, and no fluids were found.
On Sunday, around 12:15 a.m., a structure fire was reported in the 800 block of Hosea Street. Firefighters found a two-story apartment complex with nothing showing. The department found there was no fire, and nothing was discovered after a check of the apartment.
A crash with possible entrapment was called in a few minutes after 2:15 p.m. from the 4800 block of Highway 105, but Brenham units were cancelled while enroute to the call.
Around 2:45 p.m., BFD members went out to South Austin Street and West Tom Green Street for a smoke investigation. They reported finding pollen smoldering on the side of the street and applied water.
Approaching 4 a.m. today, the department responded to a fire alarm at Grocery Supply Company, 602 West First Street. The alarm was determined to be false.
