BLINN BUCCANEER 9TH ANNUAL CLAY SHOOTOUT TO BE HELD APRIL 17TH

The Blinn College Alumni & Friends Association and the Buccaneer Alumni Lettermen Association are getting ready to host their 9th annual Clay Shootout.

The Clay Shootout is being held at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range in Caldwell on Friday, April 17.

Each year, the money raised from the event goes towards academic scholarships and equipment for student athletes on the Brenham campus.

Last year’s event set a new record with $146,000 raised.

Participants are going to shoot on a three-flight schedule at 8:30am, 11:30am, and 2:30pm.

Blinn Alumni and Friends Association President Luke Eckert told KWHI this (Tuesday) morning that the first two flights are sold out, and they only have three spots remaining in the 2:30pm flight.

On the day of the event, registration begins one hour before shoot time, and there is also a 30-minute safety meeting that participants must attend.

Shooters will have to provide their own ammunition. The ammo must be 8 or 9 shot only. No 7.5’s will be allowed. Each shooter is going to get 100 registered targets.

Awards are going to be given to the highest individual scores for male, female, and youth.

There will also be awards presented for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.

Unlimited food and refreshments are included with the entry fee.

Non-shooters, who still wish to attend, can get unlimited food and refreshments for $20. At the end of the event, they will also be having prize drawings, which include various types of guns, and VISA gift cards.
