UIL RELEASES REMAINING SPORTS REALIGNMENTS

The University Interscholastic League has released the remainder of the realignments for their respective sports districts.

For the Burton Panthers and Lady Panthers, their baseball and softball districts are going to look significantly different from their volleyball, and basketball districts.

Previously announced back in February, for volleyball, Burton will be in District 25-2A with Hearne, Milano, Mumford, Snook, and Somerville.

For basketball, the Panthers and Lady Panthers will be in District 26-2A with Hearne, Iola, Mumford, Normangee, Snook, and Somerville.

Just announced on Wednesday, Burton will be in District 29-2A for baseball and softball. The new district for baseball includes Danbury, Flatonia, Ganado, Louise, Shiner, Weimar, Fayetteville, Moulton, and Round Top-Carmine.

The softball district includes those same teams minus Round Top-Carmine and Fayetteville.

This will be the first time in a long while that Burton is not in the same the district as nearby neighbors Somerville and Snook.

Starting in 2027, for baseball, Snook and Somerville will be in District 25-2A, which also includes Iola, Leon, Milano, Mumford, Normangee, Thorndale, North Zulch, and Richards. The softball district has all those same teams minus Richards.
