BRENHAM BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT TO HEAR REQUEST TO REDUCE WIDTH OF DRIVE AISLE AT SELECT FURNISHINGS
The Brenham Board of Adjustment will meet Monday to consider a request for a reduced drive aisle.
The applicant, Floresville Land Enterprises, Inc., is asking to allow a 3-foot reduction for the two-way drive aisle at Select Furnishings, 1900 Highway 290 West, from the minimum requirement of 24 feet to 21 feet.
Due to the TxDOT cloverleaf project, TxDOT has acquired additional road-right-of-way that will require the property owner to relocate the existing off-street parking to the north side of the building. The engineer, MBC Management, Inc., said significant elevation changes in the relocation area mean that it would not be possible to maintain the existing 24-foot width and still meet the 3:1 slope required for ADA access.
City staff recommends approval of the request.
Also at the meeting, board members will choose to elect a chair and vice chair for 2026.
The board will meet Monday at 5:15 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
