GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR BRENHAM FAMILY PARK MAY 12

After many years in the making, the City of Brenham will soon turn dirt at the site of the new Brenham Family Park.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 12th at 9:30 a.m. at 3110 South Chappell Hill Street.  Community members are invited to hear remarks from city officials and watch the ceremonial groundbreaking.

The first stage of the 32-acre park project, which will sit on 100 acres donated to the city by Ed and Evelyn Kruse, will include an amenity pond, a walking and biking trail, a pedestrian bridge, wildflower areas, parking, a bathroom facility and lighting.

The city says this project marks the first new park developed in Brenham since 2001.
