FIVE SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT

  

Five people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st and 335th District Court before Judge Reva Towslee Corbett.

43-year-old Angelica Gamboa of Brenham, sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Injury to a Child, a third degree felony.  Gamboa was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and a $50 crime stoppers fee, complete a batterers intervention program, successfully complete protective parenting classes and an anger management class, and have supervised visits with children until completion of the parenting and anger management classes.

31-year-old Juan Luis Lira Rangel of Brenham, sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Assault of a Pregnant Person, a third degree felony.  Rangel must also pay a $2,000 fine, a $100 family violence fee to a shelter and a $50 crime stoppers fee.  Additionally, he must complete a batterers intervention program.

21-year-old Joe John Andrade Jr. of Brenham, sentenced to 3 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams, a third degree felony.  Andrade must also pay a $1,000 fine, a $180 lab fee and a $50 crime stoppers fee, in addition to performing 100 hours of community service and completing a drug offender education program.

46-year-old Amy Michelle Stewart of Washington, sentenced to 2 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Attempted Credit/Debit Card Abuse, a Class A misdemeanor.  Stewart will also have to pay $32,069 in restitution, a $50 warrant fee and a $50 crime stoppers fee, and she must maintain no contact with the victim in the case.

53-year-old Bevan Rhea Lazrine of Brenham, sentenced to 2 years’ probation for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, a Class B misdemeanor.  Lazrine was also ordered to pay a $500 fine, $100 to the EMS Trauma Fund and a $50 crime stoppers fee.  Additionally, she must spend 5 days in the Washington County Jail as a condition of probation, have an interlock device on her vehicle for one year, and complete a DWI education program.
