BRENHAM FD RESPONDS FRIDAY TO VEHICLE FIRE AT BANK, ACCIDENT

The Brenham Fire Department responded to two calls on Friday.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., units were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire at Brenham National Bank, 2211 South Day Street.  The vehicle on fire was found in the drive-thru portion of the building, so dispatch upgraded the call to a structure fire.  Brenham firefighters were joined by members of the Meyersville, Chappell Hill and Salem Volunteer Fire Departments.  They extinguished the fire before any impingement took place into the building.  A minor amount of smoke made it into the structure, but no damage was caused to the building.

A few minutes past 6:15 p.m., BFD personnel were called out to an accident at the intersection of South Day Street and Lubbock Street.  They found a two-vehicle collision that had moved off the roadway.  The department checked for hazards and assisted EMS with checking for injuries, remaining on scene until EMS cleared the call.
