Two people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st and 335th District Court before Judge J.D. Langley.

33-year-old Joe Matthew Longoria of Houston, sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Assault of a Pregnant Person, a third degree felony.  Longoria must also pay a $500 fine, a $100 fee to a family violence shelter and a $50 crime stoppers fee.  Additionally, he will have to perform 100 hours of community service and complete a batterers intervention program.

27-year-old Darvon Deyon Dixson of Dallas, sentenced to 3 years’ probation for two counts of Burglary of Vehicles with Two or More Convictions and for Credit/Debit Card Abuse, all state jail felonies.  The sentences will run concurrently.  Dixson will also have to pay a $1,000 fine and $460 in restitution, as well as crime stoppers fees of $50 for each case.  In addition, he must perform 100 hours of community service and maintain no contact with the victim or address.

(Editor's Note: the article previously listed a plea and sentence for Karl Jay Figgs, but the Washington County District Attorney's Office later issued a correction, stating his plea did not go through.)
