BRENHAM HOME DESTROYED IN OVERNIGHT STORM

  

A Brenham family is picking up the pieces after a storm early Wednesday morning tore through their home. 

Brenham firefighters responded around 1:15 a.m. to a residence in the 1400 block of Burleson Street for a reported structure collapse.  Units discovered heavy damage to the brick structure and downed trees in the front yard.  No injuries were reported for the occupant.

Tina Heritage, co-owner of Select Furnishings in Brenham, shared photos on social media of the damage to the home, where her mother lived. 

Heritage said a tornado started in her backyard before ripping through her mother’s home while she slept.  She expressed gratitude that her mother, while being shaken up, received no harm, adding, “While our homes and things can be replaced, she cannot.”

Heritage also thanked all those who have reached out to her family and for their support.  She said, “Right now, we are overwhelmed and exhausted, but please know we see your messages and truly appreciate every one of them. We will get back with everyone as soon as we can.”
