NEW WORK ORDER SYSTEM ACTIVE FOR WASHINGTON CO. EDS

with county commissioners on Tuesday about the
Engineering and Development Services Department's
new work order system, MyGovernmentOnline.
Washington County’s Engineering and Development Services Department has a new method for providing updates on work orders.
During County Engineer Wesley Stolz’ quarterly report at Tuesday's county commissioners meeting, he announced the department has converted its work orders over to MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) and is now live with the new system. Stolz said residents who opt in by providing their phone number or email to the department can receive automatic updates on the details of their work order and how it is coming along.
Stolz said the transition over to MGO has been smooth, and that department staff has spent much time training with the new systems.
The county will also utilize MGO for permitting, but Stolz said that portion will not be ready for a few more weeks. He said the county will share more information about the MGO system once the permitting side goes live.
Also during Stolz’ report, he talked about the department’s response during the wind storm early on May 27th, which led to 52 road closures throughout the night because of downed trees and tree limbs. He commended the work of EDS employees, who went out early in the morning to clear roads as quickly as possible in time for morning traffic.
In other business on Tuesday, commissioners:
- Approved a request from the Salem Volunteer Fire Department for financial assistance in the amount of $13,250, representing the department’s required 5 percent local match for a Texas A&M Forest Service Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program grant. The grant is for the purchase of a brush truck, with a total grant value of $265,000.
- Approved an oil and gas development permit for GeoSouthern Operating, LLC on McNelly Lane in Precinct 3.
- Read a proclamation recognizing the month of June as Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month in Washington County.
