A traffic stop on Sunday in Somerville led to an arrest after drugs and drug paraphernalia were discovered.

A Burleson County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 36 for not displaying a front license plate.

While the deputy was questioning the driver and the passenger, reports say they both appeared to be nervous.

The deputy asked for and received consent to search the vehicle.

During the search, the Sheriff’s Office uncovered 1.5 grams of methamphetamines, new and used syringes, and numerous other drug paraphernalia items.

The driver, who was later identified as 35-year-old Timothy Brinkerhoff,  starting showing signs of needing medical attention, and was transported to St. Joseph’s Health Center in Caldwell.

Once medically cleared, he was then taken and booked into the Burleson County Jail just after 1am (Monday) this morning.

Brinkerhoff has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One, greater than one gram, but less than four grams, which is a third-degree felony.
