BIDDING OPEN TO BECOME CHAPPELL HILL INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE GUNNER

  

The Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce has opened bids for the opportunity to be the official “parade gunner” for the 49^th Annual Independence Day Parade, part of the celebration of America’s 250^th anniversary.

The parade gunner will start the parade with the firing of a cannon built and designed in Chappell Hill by the late Russell Fischer.  They will receive a tri-fold hat and a certificate designating them as the “Official 2026 Chappell Hill Parade Gunner” as they help start the Biggest Small Town Parade in America on Saturday, July 4^th at 10 a.m.

Bidding starts at $500 and will end at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1^st.  The winner will be announced at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 2^nd.
