BRENHAM STUDENTS TAKE PART IN NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Five students recently represented Brenham ISD on the national stage at the 2026 Educators Rising National Conference in Portland, Oregon.

The Brenham students competed among more than 3,300 aspiring educators from across the United States.
The students earned their place at the national conference after advancing through the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) Area 5 Conference and the Teach Tomorrow Summit State Conference.
Representing Brenham High School were 2026 graduates Alaija Johnson, Kaylin Bogan, and Lillie Lehrmann, along with rising juniors Brazos Supak and Alejandra Rodriguez Mejia. They were accompanied by their TAFE advisor, Heather Kaldis.

Sophomore Alejandra Rodriguez Mejia was named National Champion, earning First Place for her K–3 Spanish children's book, Detrás del Silencio, written in honor of her cousin.
Sophomore Brazos Supak earned Second Place in the Nation in Exploring Non-Core Teaching Careers after shadowing Brenham High School Band Director Karla Rettig to learn about careers in music education.
Recent graduate Lillie Lehrmann placed Fifth in the Nation in the Job Interview category after preparing thorough mock interviews with Brenham ISD administrators and educators.
Recent graduate Alaija Johnson earned a White Ribbon for her interactive bulletin board project, Algebra Unmasked. After receiving a perfect score at the Texas state competition, she qualified for nationals.
