FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND ARRESTS FOR BRENHAM PD INCLUDE CHARGES OF CHILD ENDANGERMENT, ASSAULT, DWI
Brenham police arrested nine people over the Fourth of July weekend.
Just past 7 a.m. Friday, Corporal Edward Ortega and Officer-in-training Mason Guillen conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of South Chappell Hill Street for a traffic violation. During the stop, police found that the driver, 40-year-old Andy Blanchard of Brenham, had an active warrant out of Brenham Municipal Court for Driving While License Invalid. Blanchard was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Around 8 p.m., Officer Eric Crosby conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West Main Street and Burleson Street for a stop sign violation. According to police, their investigation revealed that the driver was operating a motorized moped with an invalid driver’s license and no proof of financial responsibility. As a result, 60-year-old James McGregor of Brenham was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid – Enhanced and booked into the Washington County Jail without incident.
At 9:45 p.m., Officer Crosby conducted a traffic stop at Highway 290 West and FM 389 for a vehicle violation. During the investigation, 25-year-old Da Kinney of Missouri City was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and taken to the Washington County Jail.
Around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Officer Brayten Rolling responded to a mobile welfare concern that originated in the 2800 block of Highway 36 South. Police conducted an investigative stop near the intersection of North Park Street and Highway 36 North. After conducting a probable cause search, police took the driver, 18-year-old David Michael Blalock of Somerville, into custody without incident for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram.
Close to 1:15 p.m., Sergeant Jose Perez conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Hosea Street. Upon contact with the driver, 22-year-old Quin’Stazia Nickerson of Bryan, police say she showed to have an active warrant out of Brenham Municipal Court for Assault. Nickerson was placed into custody for the warrant and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Approaching 8:45 p.m., Officer Gabriel Duran conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of South Jackson Street. After further investigation, 30-year-old Victor Gomez Castro of Brenham was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger. The front seat passenger, identified as 66-year-old Salvador Gomez of Brenham, was taken into custody for Public Intoxication. They were transported to the Washington County Jail.
At 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Officer Crosby performed a welfare check near the 3000 block of Highway 290 East. Investigation resulted in the arrest of 32-year-old DeQuincy Turner of Baton Rouge, Louisiana for Endangering a Child and Assault Family Violence. Turner was taken to the Washington County Jail.
Around 4:30 a.m. today (Monday), Officer Crosby conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 290 East and Cantey Street for a vehicle violation. During the investigation, the driver, 29-year-old Roy Roman of Mission, was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid – Enhanced. Roman was booked into the Washington County Jail without incident.
