FATAL GRIMES CO. SHOOTING UNDER INVESTIGATION

  

Investigation is underway after a deadly weekend shooting in Bedias.

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office says it received a 911 call shortly before 5:15 p.m. Saturday reporting a shooting on Independence Drive.  Upon arrival, deputies found an adult man with multiple gunshot wounds and another adult man who stated he was responsible for the shooting.

According to the sheriff’s office, preliminary investigation indicates the two men were involved in a disturbance, leading to one of the men producing a handgun and shooting the other.

The man who was shot has succumbed to his injuries.  He has been positively identified, but investigators are still working to identify and notify family members.

The man reported to be responsible for the shooting has been detained and is cooperating with investigators.  The sheriff’s office is also questioning an adult woman who was on scene.

Investigation is being led by the sheriff’s office with assistance from the Texas Rangers and Grimes County District Attorney’s Office.  More information will be released once the investigation concludes.
