NINE SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT
Nine people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st and 335th District Court before Judge Carson Campbell.
34-year-old Diondrick Deshawn Thomas of Brenham, sentenced to 15 years in prison for Continuous Violence Against the Family, a third degree felony enhanced to a second degree felony. He was also sentenced to 10 years in prison for a third degree felony charge of Continuous Violence Against the Family.
20-year-old Marcus Jay Underwood of Brenham, probation adjudicated and sentenced to 5 years in prison for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams, a third degree felony. He was also sentenced to 5 years in prison for two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, both second degree felonies, Assault of a Pregnant Person, a third degree felony, and Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, a third degree felony.
22-year-old Hayden Alexander Torres of Brenham, sentenced to 3 years in prison for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams, a second degree felony. Torres was also sentenced to 341 days in state jail for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3/4, Less Than 28 Grams, a state jail felony.
27-year-old Dharry Klinern Bailey of Sealy, sentenced to 9 months in state jail for Theft of Property Less Than $2,500 with Two or More Previous Convictions, a state jail felony.
40-year-old Christopher Jamal Smith of Brenham, probation revoked and sentenced to 6 months in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram, a state jail felony. Smith was also sentenced to 6 months in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, a state jail felony.
25-year-old Damarcus D’Angelo Harrison of Burton, sentenced to 10 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Deadly Conduct Discharge of a Firearm, a third degree felony. Harrison was also fined $1,000 and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
33-year-old Shawndreka Faye Barnes of Brenham, probation adjudicated and sentenced to 5 years’ probation for Injury to a Disabled Individual, a third degree felony. Barnes was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and $50 crime stoppers fee, not work as a caretaker, maintain no contact with the victim in the case, and complete an intermediate sanction facility program. Additionally, Barnes was sentenced to 5 years’ probation for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger, a state jail felony. For that charge, she must pay $100 to the EMS Trauma Fund and a $60 lab fee, have an interlock device installed on her vehicle for one year, and spend 10 days in the Washington County Jail as a condition of probation.
23-year-old Jerald Dewayne Adams of Navasota, sentenced to 4 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, a third degree felony. Adams must also pay a $1,000 fine and $50 crime stoppers fee, perform 240 hours of community service, and spend 30 days in the Washington County Jail as a condition of probation.
64-year-old Abel Flores Gonzalez of Burton, sentenced to 4 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Tampering with Physical Evidence, a state jail felony. Gonzalez was also fined $500 and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.
