BURTON BASEBALL CELEBRATES 2026 STATE TITLE AT DANCE WITH CHAMPIONS
The 2026 State Champion Burton Panther Baseball Team was honored on Saturday night as part of the “Dance With Champions” event.
A large crowd gathered for the evening’s festivities in downtown Burton. Darrell Kieke served as the master of ceremonies for the night.
The streets were closed off from the White Horse Tavern to the pavilion at the Burton Cotton Gin Museum.
Prior to the dance, several teams were recognized including the 1987 State Championship Team, the 1982 State Runner-Up Team, along with some of the great Burton Teams from the 1970’s, and two former Lady Panther softball teams that made it to state.

They would later air a replay of this year’s State Championship Baseball Game in which Burton defeated Ropes 6-1 to win their first title in 39 seasons.
Players and fans were treated to a meal of pulled pork barbecue sandwiches.
The evening closed with a free street dance featuring music by the Texas Unlimited Band.
