BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED AFTER PURSUIT INVOLVING STOLEN VEHICLE
A chase involving a reported stolen vehicle late Thursday night in Brenham led to the arrest of a Brenham man on several charges.
The Brenham Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office were alerted just after 11 p.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle in the 800 block of East Blue Bell Road. According to police, dispatch advised that the caller went into a business, and when he came out, his vehicle was stolen.
The sheriff’s office located the vehicle in the area and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled, leading to a pursuit with deputies and DPS Troopers.
According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle stopped in the 2900 block of Oakwood Drive, with all occupants fleeing on foot.
The driver, 19-year-old Markel Dequinn Moore, was taken into custody. The vehicle was returned to its owner.
Moore was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle, Evading Arrest/Detention, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and False Drug Test Falsification Device.
