WASHINGTON CO. FAIR QUEEN CANDIDATES REVEALED
Five candidates are vying to be named Washington County Fair Queen.

The 2026 candidates were introduced at a program on Tuesday at the Washington County Expo. Running for fair queen this year are Monnica Colanter, Brooke Mulder, Gentri Gutierrez, Lilly Baker and Barnes Koehl.
Monnica Colanter is a senior at Grace Lutheran School, and is representing Grace Lutheran High School Athletics. She is the daughter of Eddie N. and Brit Colanter. She is the granddaughter of Bonnie Lewis.
Colanter said she loves to see the community come together at the fair to support its youth.

Brooke Mulder is a junior at Brenham High School, and is representing Washington County 4-H. She is the daughter of Rheagan Mulder. She is the granddaughter of Randy Gaskamp and the late Tina Gaskamp.
Mulder said she wants to pour back into the community that has given her so many opportunities.

Gentri Gutierrez is a junior at Brenham High School, and is representing Washington County 4-H. She is the daughter of Savannah and Matt Gutierrez. She is the granddaughter of Jody Schulz and the late Larry Schulz, and Terry and Matt Gutierrez.
Gutierrez said she has been involved with the fair from a very young age and seeks to help make the fair a better place.

Lilly Baker is a senior at Brenham High School, and is representing the Brenham Anchor Club. She is the daughter of Lacy and Raymond Sutton. She is the granddaughter of Carolyn Baker, William Baker, Laurie Sutton, and the late Ray Sutton.
Baker said she always looked up to the fair queens growing up and is honored to have this opportunity.

Barnes Koehl is a junior at Brenham High School, and is representing Brenham FFA. She is the daughter of Destre and Blaine Koehl. She is the granddaughter of Patsy and Rayburn Klussmann, and Deloris and Billie Koehl.
Koehl said she would love to honor the fair that means so much to her and to give back to the community in any way she can.
The queen will be selected based on ticket sales, an oral interview and a written essay. Candidates are eligible to win scholarships and prizes.
The fair queen will be crowned on Saturday, September 12th at 6:30 p.m. at the Expo Entertainment Pavilion.
