SHINER CATHOLIC CHURCH TO HOLD ANNUAL FALL PICNIC
The Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner is inviting the public to their annual Fall Picnic on Labor Day Weekend.
The Fall Picnic will be held on Sunday, September 6, at the KC Park located at 102 South Avenue G in Shiner.
The Country Store opens at 8am. They are going to have canned and baked goods, kolaches, and pigs-in-a-blanket.
Lunch will be served beginning at 10:30am. Plates are $15 each, and can be dine-in or to-go.
Each plate includes three meats: picnic stew, fried chicken, and country sausage with the trimmings.
The outdoor music begins at 10:30am with the Kerr Creek Band at 10:30am, followed by Vic Patek’s Classic Top Hits at 12:30pm, the Blue Denim Band at 2:30pm, Robert Casanova at 5pm, and then Bill Pekar and the Rainy Brothers at 7:30pm.
There will also be outdoor music from the Rusty Steins at 11am, the Shiner Hobo Band at 2pm, and the Ennis Czech Boys at 4pm.
The evening closes with a dance featuring music by the Emotions, who will be celebrating their 50th anniversary, from 9pm-midnight.
Other activities include the big country auction, a cattle auction, a cornhole tournament, a washer tournament, bingo, prize drawings, a grocery wheel, kids’ activities, and their famous picnic burgers will be served all afternoon and evening.
